Tony Shalhoub returns as Monk for a seventh season in the detective show, Monk. The seventh season of Monk aired July 18, 2008 and will be released to DVD on July 21, 2009. In the first episode, Monk is saddened by the death of his  beloved psychiatrist, Dr. Charles Kroger. To escape the neighbor, who constantly plays a song on the piano that reminds him of Dr. Kroger(Stanley Kamel), Monk decides to buy a house. The house he purchases, belonged to an elderly man who was presumed to have died accidentally in the home. Needing help with minor repair, Monk hires a handy-man, “Honest Jake”, who turns out to be anything but handy… or honest. Monk soon learns that the former owner’s death was no accident, but discovers the truth too late, putting himself, and Natalie (Traylor Howard), in grave danger. By the end Monk decides it’s time to try out a new psychiatrist, Dr. Neven Bell (Hector Elizondo).
